It’s time to paint your wrist red with the best red dial watches of the season

When it comes to the latest watch trends in the market, coloured dials have always been a fan favourite. From the timeless blue and black coloured dials to more experimental colours like salmon and green, dial colours have always made a statement of style. This season belongs to the colour red. Here is a pick of our favourites:

With a fiery red look and new energy, the latest release from the factory of TAG Heuer is its new limited edition Carrera Red Dial. With this new timepiece, TAG Heuer takes its most iconic and elegant chronograph and breathes new life in it with a unique dial colour, iconic silhouette, and standout technical innovation.

The watch is deeply inspired by the structure of the original Heuer Carerra reference 2447, which includes the signature lugs and pushers. The indexes and hours and minutes hands are faceted, rhodium-plated, and coated with Super-LumiNova® for optimal readability. The red dial sitting under the glass box is where the magic takes place. The new deep red dial works beautifully against the elegant tri-compax layout, giving the watch a new face and feel. The colour also symbolises a core identity of TAG Heuer. In their watches, we have witnessed its presence in many forms, from brand logos to subtle design elements like the bright red hands on the Heuer Monaco.

The 600-piece limited edition watch includes other features like a 39mm polished stainless steel case with a “Limited Edition” and “ONE OF 600” engraved case back. Beneath the hood sits the sturdy Caliber Heuer 02 Automatic movement. The watch is available in a black alligator leather strap that works perfectly with the crimson dial.

Providing the classic combination of red and black, the development of the beautiful Bulgari Aluminium Ducati Special Edition chronograph results from an exclusive collaboration between two iconic Italian brands: Bulgari and Ducati. A special and sleek sports watch, the Bulgari Aluminium Ducati Special Edition chronograph is produced in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.

The watch houses a stunning dial in Ducati red colour with three counters that offer a sporty aesthetic. It is heavily inspired by the Ducati rev counter graphics; black background, white indexes, and a red sphere.

Furthermore, the watch is made of unconventional materials. It comes in a 40mm case structure made from aluminium with an iconic bezel, titanium crown, chronograph pushers, and a bracelet made from black rubber. The mechanical automatic BVL 130 movement, with a power reserve of 42 hours works, within the aluminium case. The titanium case back treated with anti-wear DLC is present in a personalised format with the Ducati brand and production number.

All of this attests to the uniqueness of the limited-edition piece. Adding more oomph to this watch is a special anodised aluminium case watch box that houses rubber interiors and bears the signatures of the two brands.

Another spectacular edition on this list of red dial watches is the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Chinese New year”.

Released on the special occasion of bringing in the Chinese New Year for the Year of the Tiger, this special edition watch makes a daring impression. The watch features a burgundy dial and a matching burgundy leather strap. It is a bold addition to IWC’s iconic lineup of its Pilot’s Watch. The watch comes in a 41mm stainless steel case that works in perfect contrast with the burgundy dial.

The see-through sapphire crystal case back offers an exciting view of the brand’s 69385 Caliber with a rotor in the shape of a tiger and a power reserve of 46 hours.

Distinctive in red, Breitling’s Top Time Chevrolet Corvet from its Classic Cars Capsule collection is a stunner. The watch is a part of a trio of racing chronographs inspired by the three American car culture icons: the Shelby Cobra, the Ford Mustang, and the Chevrolet Corvette.

Regarding the design, the timepieces are a nod to the original 1960s Breitling Top Time models specifically designed for “young and active professionals”. Featuring a motoring twist and standing out in bold and bright colours, the range includes the Top Time Chevrolet Corvette in red and black, the Top Time Ford Mustang in green and black, and the Top Time Shelby Cobra in blue and white. The Top Time Chevrolet Corvette, as the name suggests, is heavily based on the striking design of the Corvette C2 (also called the “Sting Ray”) from the mid-1960s. Available in a 42mm stainless steel case, the red marvel is set with a bright red dial with a black tachymeter scale and black chronograph counters — a colour combination taken right off the pages of the car itself. The timepiece is powered by Breitling COSC-certified Caliber 25, which offers a power reserve of 42 hours.

It was 65 years ago that OMEGA released the original Speedmaster watch developed to support the auto-racing teams and engineers on track.

OMEGA’s famous Speedmaster ‘57 (first introduced in 2013) returns in 2022 with many upgrades. This includes a Master Chronometer certification, a slimmer profile at 40.5 mm, and an array of dial colours — one of which is the newly varnished burgundy dial. This beautiful varnished dial combines perfectly with the stainless steel case and applied elements on the dial, including diamond polished rhodium-plated hour markers filled with green emission Super-LumiNova. Adding more character to the watch is the leather strap in the same colour as the dial.

Beating inside the polished-brushed stainless steel case is OMEGA’s manual-winding OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9906 with a power reserve of 60 hours.

Expanding its line of robust diving watches is the beautiful BR 03-92 Diver Red Bronze. As the name suggests, the timepiece features a 42mm square case with a round unidirectional bezel in a uniquely polished CuSn8 bronze case material. From the anodised red used for the bezel and the red lacquer for the dial to the reddish-brown leather strap, each red element offers a different perspective that compliments each other. A bright red dial housing gold plated applique indices with SuperLumiNova® inserts works beautifully with this unique case material and skeletonised gold plated hour, minute, and seconds hands.

Despite the jaw-dropping aesthetics, the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Red Bronze is a true diver’s watch. It is equipped with the BR-CAL.302 automatic movement that is ISO 6425 certified. It is water-resistant to 300 m and features a rubber-coated screw-down crown protected by guards. The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Red Bronze is a limited edition of 999 pieces.

A faithful companion for all adventures, the H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Mad Red features a solid case structure made from steel. The brand’s signature Swiss Mad Red fumé dial marks a bold aesthetic the brand is now known for. Pegged as one of the most versatile timepieces, this 42.8mm marvel makes a handsome and comfortable impression on your wrist. The case finish, featuring a lovely combination of polished and brushed surfaces, works beautifully with the bright red fumé dial with a gradient sunburst pattern. The beauty of the dial begins with a bright, candy-apple red shade in the centre, which gradually moves to a darker hue on the exterior part of the dial. The presence of a sunburst pattern makes the dial playful when set against different changes in light.

Beating at the watch’s heart is the HMC 200 movement with a power reserve of a whopping three days. The perforated black rubber strap adds the final touch to this elegant piece of all-purpose horology.

When it comes to watches from Trilobe, the general rule of thumb is not “look for the hands: the watch points to a new pole, enhanced with nonconformity and jostling encounters”. What this really means is the reinvention of the wheel of reading time. How does this work? Trilobe introduces a conceptual reversal with the help of three rotating rings that rush forward, carrying with them the scales of time: the largest ring for hours, the medium one for minutes, and the smallest one for seconds. All of this has been made possible with the help of the brand’s exclusive X-Centric calibre.

The watch featured here belongs to the brand’s “Les Matinaux” collection and is called the Trilobe Les Matinaux Sunray Carmine. It features a bright red dial or discs in this case that works beautifully against the titanium case structure. The edition is available in two case sizes of 38.5 mm and 40.5 mm. It is powered by X-Centric automatic calibre and comes strapped to a suede calfskin leather strap.

When it comes to Casio’s G-SHOCK collection, we understand that there is no dearth of options. One can find all types of colour and design variations of one of our time’s most popular and iconic watches.

However, since this is the season of red, this particular edition (G-SHOCK GM-2100B-4ADR – G1161) is a favourite. Set with a bright red dial, this sleek, sharp, and bold G-SHOCK is available in a standard metal-clad octagonal shape. The classic case is made from stainless steel with the presence of a robust bezel that adds more style to the timepiece.

The red dial on this watch is treated with a vapour deposition finish that gives the red hue a metallic look that works perfectly with the classic metal G-SHOCK timepiece. Other features include a world timer, stopwatch, auto calendar, alarm, and hourly time signal functions.

Probably one of the most popular round watches with the perfect proportions, the Baume & Mercier Classima has been a fashion statement since its launch in 2004. With the new 2022 Classima, Baume & Mercier plays with colours and composition to give us a timepiece that is a delight to wear. Combining burgundy with blue (a colour trend that always goes), the Classima gets inspired by the City look.

For this timepiece, the Classima City goes into XL format with a 42mm steel case featuring a large burgundy sun satin dial with a blue flange, giving the minute track a more pronounced depth. Add to this the three rhodium-plated leaf hands and the white Roman numerals and indexes, and you have gotten yourself a winner. The elegant watch is powered by a self-winding movement that offers a 38-hour power reserve.

Making a case for one of the most elegant watches on the list is the 2022 Cartier Tank Louis Cartier featuring a bright red monochrome dial. Gorgeously refined, these monochrome dials follow a simple geometric pattern that divides the dial into beautiful shades of wine red, creating a three-dimensional effect when light hits the dial.

The Cartier watchmakers have achieved this unique pattern and influence by using an innovative electrochemical engraving technique that can offer extremely high-precision markings. Apart from utilising a lacquer finish for this particular Louis Cartier timepiece, the brand has also let go of the 12 Roman numeral hour markers, and included just four. The presence gives the watch a classical aesthetic that Cartier, as a brand, is well known for. The model comes in an 18K gold case with large dimensions measuring 25.5mm wide and 33.7mm long. Inside the 6.6mm thick case rests the Cartier 1917 MC calibre.
