Trellised crops require solutions for the permanent and durable installation of suspended drip irrigation systems, and to ensure that these withstand the different mechanical operations required by the plants throughout their production cycle, from pruning or weeding to harvesting.
Agrifast has therefore launched a new range of tools to help growers using this cultivation technique, which has already been tested by professionals around the world.
"There are millions of hectares of trellised vineyards, fruit, olive and almond trees where drip irrigation systems are being installed. Most of the time, the tube is placed directly on the soil, but when it is time for a tractor to pass, to remove weeds or for other mechanical processes to be carried out, they get in the way. That is why hanging the tubes on wire structures above the ground is becoming a trend," says Alberto, of Agrifast.
But how to fasten the pipe? "There are different ways; with ropes, with flanges or even with plastic clips designed specifically for this purpose; however, since they are outdoors, these materials end up being damaged over the years by the action of the sun and temperature changes. The solution that Agrifast has developed is very simple and, at the same time, durable: a galvanized, stainless steel clip with a useful life of 15 years," says the professional. "A very handy system, especially for new plantations."
Installing the irrigation systems with this Agrifast solution is easy and fast thanks to the staplers also developed by the company, which allow pipes with diameters ranging from 13 to 20 mm to be fastened. "We have customers for this product in Spain, France, Italy, the United States and Chile, and it is also used increasingly more in Russia and Ukraine," says Alberto.
