Hi, what are you looking for?

Y-strainer is an indispensable Y-strainer device in the pipeline system for conveying fluid medium.

Y-strainers are usually installed at the inlet of pressure reducing valve, pressure relief valve, stop valve (such as the water inlet end of indoor heating pipeline) or other equipment to remove impurities in the medium to protect the normal operation of valves and equipment use.

The Y-strainer has advanced structure, low resistance and convenient sewage discharge.

The Y-strainer is mainly composed of a connecting pipe, a main pipe, a Y-strainer screen, a flange, a flange cover and a fastener. When the liquid enters the Y-strainer basket through the main pipe, the solid impurity particles are blocked in the Y-strainer basket, and the clean fluid passes through the Y-strainer basket and is discharged from the Y-strainer outlet. The reason why the Y-strainer screen is made into the shape of a cylindrical Y-strainer basket is to increase its strength, which is stronger than a single-layer screen, and the flange cover at the lower end of the y-shaped interface can be unscrewed to periodically remove the particles deposited in the Y-strainer basket.

Before installing the Y-strainer, carefully clean the threaded connection surfaces of all pipes, and use pipe sealant or Teflon tape (teflon) in moderation. End threads are left untreated to avoid getting sealant or Teflon tape into the piping system. Y-strainers can be installed horizontally or vertically downwards.

1. Be sure to open the plastic packaging of the product within the clean room range before installation;

2. Hold the outer frame of the Y-strainer with both hands during handling;

3. At least two people are required to install larger Y-strainers;

4. Do not hold the middle part of the Y-strainer by hand;

5. Do not touch the material inside the Y-strainer;

6. Do not use a knife to cut open the outer packaging of the Y-strainer;

7. Be careful not to distort the Y-strainer when handling;

8. Protect the gasket of the Y-strainer to avoid collision with other objects.

When installing 1-1/4″ (DN32) or larger socket weld Y-strainers or all D series Y-strainers, it should be noted that the gaskets on these Y-strainers are non-metallic and are easily damaged by overheating. Shorten the welding time and cool the Y-strainer after welding. If preheating is required before welding or continued heating after welding (D series Y-strainer), it is recommended to remove the gasket before heating.

4. The operation and maintenance of the Y-strainer

After the system has been working for a period of time (generally no more than one week), it should be cleaned to remove the impurities and dirt accumulated on the Y-strainer screen during the initial operation of the system. After that, regular cleaning is required. The number of cleanings depends on the working conditions. If the Y-strainer does not have a drain plug, remove the Y-strainer stopper and Y-strainer when cleaning the Y-strainer.
